Father Parham at Capernaum.These are the ruins of the "white synagogue" in Capernaum. Jesus lived in Capernaum for probably 3 years, and some of the apostles were from Capernaum. Jesus was said to have taught in the earlier synagogue, the ruins of which are underneath the ruins of this synagogue. I believe they said this synagoge was built around 300 years after Jesus lived. We sat in this spot for about 30 minutes and listened to Father David tell us about the biblical references relating to Capernaum and the Eucharist. It was a very nice spot for a Bible lesson!
